GLEN CANYON DAM

Zach and I pose here in front of the back side of the dam, overlooking Lake Powell. The dam has an interesting visitor center, that at least asks the question as to whether the dam ought to exist or not, and you can take (as we did) a self-guided tour through the innards. From a technological viewpoint, not a lot can outshine a dam.

Since I believe that building this dam was a MAJOR mistake, I thought I'd present the Glen Canyon Dam Environmental Impact Statement. The U.S. Geological Survey has a web page on the dam, as does the Bureau of Reclamation.
